||Named after the Kulin people’s word for the Melbourne region, the annual Narrm Oration provides a forum for international leaders and the local community to come together and discuss Indigenous knowledge and development.
The Narrm Oration is also an opportunity for us to get to know our University community. We invite you to join University Chancellor, The Hon. Alex Chernov AO QC and Oration keynote speaker Dr Manley Begay for an alumni and friends reception prior to the Oration. Catch up over drinks and canapes while learning about the University's Indigenous development programs occurring through Murrup Barak.
Dr Manley Begay is internationally recognised as a leading researcher and writer on indigenous leadership, education and nation building and for his work on the promotion of strong and effective institutions of governance and leadership. He is a citizen of the Navajo Nation and is considered as the first Navajo to graduate from Harvard University with a doctorate degree.
The title of this year's Oration is: Indigenous National Re-Building Renaissance: Lessons abotu leadership, Governance and Resiliency of Native North America.
The 2010 Narrm Oration is sure to be a highlight of the University's calendar, and we look forward to meeting you prior to the event.
